About The Author

Dennis E Drury Sr

Dennis E. Drury Sr. lives near Dayton, Ohio.  For over a hundred years Dayton has been a hotbed for inventions like the airplane, the cash register, the automobile starter, the pop top, and the UPC code.

The author’s father was an inventor of the submersible pump and the canister vacuum.  But he didn’t have any money for a patent so his ideas were stolen.  One of the items on Dennis’ bucket list was to get a patent. He got one on a tape measure. It costed him $8000, but he did it.

In high school, Dennis made D’s in English and A’s and B’s in Physics and Chemistry. He went into the Navy where he worked on jets. He was given the opportunity work on an aircraft carrier (JFK), and in a foundry near Yellow Springs, Ohio, down the road where Rod Serling lived.

The author has a very vivid imagination. He loves to teach but didn’t want to be a teacher. Instead, Dennis found that he could put his ideas down on paper. So, he first wrote this book in 1985, and paid $500 to have it reviewed by a book service in New York but It was rejected. Dennis was devastated, and kept thinking how to make it better.

In 2020, he got Covid and was in the hospital for 10 days.  While he laid in the hospital bed, Dennis decided that if he’s going to do this before he dies, then he better get “my butt in gear.”
